Our Mission

Our goal is to provide high quality early childhood professionals to support early

childhood centers for flexible periods of time at an affordable rate.

       We accomplish this objective by:

            - Providing high quality substitutes for early learning centers on an hourly basis

            - Providing a fair compensation to early childhood teachers

What sets us apart from other substitute companies

-Our teachers are all ECT qualified and, in many cases, Director qualified

-Extremely professional teachers

-Centers can request substitutes weeks or months in advance if they

                         anticipate the need

-Centers can request the same substitute if it was a good fit for the center

Our History

Early Childhood Hourly Teachers began operations in June 2018 after founder Maru Garcia recognized a need for reliable, high-quality substitute teachers in Early Childhood Education centers across Colorado. At the time, there were very few companies focused on providing qualified substitutes specifically for early childhood programs.

Since its founding, the company has grown steadily and has proudly served more than 60 child care centers across multiple counties in Colorado. By connecting centers with dependable and experienced substitute teachers, Early Childhood Hourly Teachers has helped ensure that classrooms remain supported and that children continue to receive consistent care and education.

In 2026, Maru Garcia sold the company to Emily Lichtenstein, a dedicated Early Childhood Education professional with over 20 years of experience in the field. Maru was confident that Emily shared the same passion and commitment to supporting early childhood programs and would continue providing excellent substitute teachers to centers throughout Colorado.

Today, Early Childhood Hourly Teachers continues its mission of supporting early childhood programs by providing professional, reliable substitute teachers who understand the unique needs of young learners and the educators who serve them.
